Handmade silk items from The White Aisle

I have just come across the site The White Aisle which is truly inspirational.  They offer a stunning range of wedding stationery, gifts, accessories and favours but what I am most inspired by is their ‘Giving Back’ program.

After spending time in Cambodia, Rebecca and Dade Sokoloff began working with a day centre in Phnom Penh which gives vocational training to young women who are currently prostitutes, with the hope that they can then obtain jobs.

Rebecca and Dade designed a line of bridal accessories made from local silk with all proceeds going to pay the salaries of the young women.

Not only is the story behind this range of products inspirational, but the products themselves are absolutely stunning.  Simple and elegant, the fabrics are local hand loomed Khmer (Cambodian) silk.  The range includes silk flowers, silk sashes and beautiful ring pillows finished with silk roses.
