Being wedding mad I watch all the wedding programs, whether they are good, bad or average. Over the last few weeks I’ve been watching the Aussie ‘Four Weddings’ which is a fun program and I love checking out all the themes and details. However I have to admit I do find it a little bit uncomfortable at times watching the criticism that the girls receive from the others. It’s all part of the game, but it got me thinking…
You’ll notice at the end of every wedding each bride says that she had a fantastic day, the best day of her life, and that her wedding will win.
And really, this is what weddings are all about – at the end of the day, all that matters is that you and your new husband have had the best day of your lives.
Regardless of what style of wedding you’ve had, whether you’ve spent $50,000 or $10,000, believe me, your wedding day WILL be the best day of your life.
How could it not – you and your husband are looking your best, you’re surrounded by family and friends who are there loving and supporting you, on a joyful day when everyone is in celebration mode. You are the focus of everyone’s attention in a good way, everyone is there to cheer you on and wish you all the best for the future. You’ve been planning for months and finally the big day is here, you can relax and enjoy yourselves.
So I guess my advice is not to sweat about the small stuff – really think hard about your wedding, your guests, and yourselves – think about what you’d be happy with, what your guests would be happy with.
If your wedding is a true reflection of who you are as a couple, then how can your guests not enjoy themselves?
